VP Networking and Network Security

Type of Employment: Full time Permanent

Location: Accra, Ghana

The Vice President (VP) of Networking and Network Security plays a critical role in leading both the internal and external networking and cybersecurity strategy of the organization. This role is client-facing, working directly with key clients to deliver tailored networking and security solutions that align with business needs. The VP will oversee the internal networking and security teams, manage vendor relationships, and drive business growth by ensuring high-quality service delivery, project execution, and continuous client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding networking and cybersecurity solutions.
    • Develop strong, trusting relationships with clients, understanding their business needs, and providing tailored networking and security strategies.
    • Lead client presentations, solution designs, and technical consultations to support business development.
    • Proactively engage with clients to ensure the successful delivery of services, addressing any concerns, and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  2. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the networking and cybersecurity strategy that supports the company’s business objectives and aligns with client needs.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure the company offers cutting-edge solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership and Business Development teams to drive client engagement and provide insights that shape future business opportunities.
  3. Team Management and Development:
    • Lead the Networking and Network Security teams, ensuring effective collaboration between technical staff and client-facing teams.
    • Build and develop a skilled team that can execute complex client projects while maintaining a focus on service excellence.
    • Create a culture of continuous learning, promoting certifications, skills development, and industry best practices.
  4. Network Infrastructure and Security Solutions:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of client network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN) ensuring that systems are secure, scalable, and reliable.
    • Lead the delivery of tailored cybersecurity solutions that protect client environments, addressing threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Ensure the seamless integration of new technologies into clients’ existing infrastructure, supporting cloud transitions or hybrid environments as needed.
  5. Network Security Operations:
    • Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, practices, and incident response protocols both internally and for clients.
    • Monitor and manage all security operations, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, encryption, and other key cybersecurity tools.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments for clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
  6. Project and Vendor Management:
    • Lead client projects from inception to execution, ensuring that solutions meet the clients’ requirements, are delivered on time, and within budget.
    • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers, ensuring the best networking and security solutions for clients.
    • Oversee client contracts, procurement processes, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  7. Risk Management and Compliance:
    • Work closely with clients to ensure that all networking and security solutions meet regulatory and compliance standards.
    • Implement risk management protocols, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning, for both the company and its clients.
    • Ensure regular reporting and documentation for both internal stakeholders and clients, highlighting any risks, incidents, or areas for improvement.
  8. Collaboration and Business Growth:
    • Collaborate with the Business Development team to identify new business opportunities, using technical expertise to close deals and grow the client base.
    • Present strategic networking and cybersecurity plans, updates, and performance metrics to both clients and the executive team.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering recommendations on future networking and security enhancements to improve their overall operations.
  9. Financial Management:
    • Manage the department’s budget, ensuring financial efficiency and optimized client solutions.
    • Provide accurate project forecasts and ensure resources are allocated appropriately for successful client project completion.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must have CCIE (Security, Data Centre, Enterprise Infrastructure) certification
  • Additional certifications –  CISSP and CISSP certification will be an added advantage
  • Expertise in networking technologies such as routing, switching, MPLS, SD-WAN, and cloud networking (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), Palo Alto and FortiGate
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in networking, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership and client-facing role.
  • Proven experience working directly with clients to deliver tailored networking and cybersecurity solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering client projects on time and within budget.
